‘Rampage’ Quits HCL Poker Game Down Six Figures After Huge Bad Beat

Poker Vlogger Ethan “Rampage” Yau Suffers Brutal $150,000 Bad Beat on Hustler Casino Live

Ethan “Rampage” Yau, a popular poker vlogger and World Poker Tour (WPT) Global ambassador, experienced a devastating $150,000 loss on Wednesday night during a high-stakes cash game at the Hustler Casino Live. The session added to Yau’s already significant downswing in 2024.

The $25/$50 no-limit hold’em game with a $50 big blind ante featured several familiar faces, including Eshaan “Brown Balla” Bhalla and fellow vlogger Mariano Grandoli. Yau and Grandoli found themselves embroiled in the largest pot of the night, continuing their ongoing rivalry from the previous year.

Both players started the five-hour stream with $30,000 in chips, but neither had a particularly strong start. Grandoli was already down more than $40,000 within the first hour and had to add more chips, while Yau’s well-documented 2024 downswing continued.

The pivotal hand occurred a few hours into the game when Yau had an opportunity to turn his fortunes around against Grandoli, who was stuck over $100,000 at the time. However, the hand would only add to Yau’s misery.

The action unfolded with Grandoli holding Kâ™ J♦ and calling a straddle with $400. Dylan Flashner called with “The Robbie” (Jx4x) on the button, and Song called in the first straddle with 5♣3♦. Yau checked his option in the big straddle with 10♥7â™ .

The flop came Kâ™ 10♣7♦, giving Yau bottom two pair. After a series of bets and raises, Grandoli went all-in for $94,775, the size of Yau’s stack, with top pair. Yau tanked for a few minutes, contemplating his decision, before eventually calling, telling Grandoli, “we’re still friends even if you beat me.”

To run out the hand twice, as agreed upon, the first turn and river came 4â™ Jâ™ , favoring Grandoli. The second run-out of K♦Qâ™  also went Grandoli’s way, resulting in a brutal double bad beat for Yau.

Grandoli scooped the massive $191,175 pot, but he was still down significantly on the session. Yau, unable to rebuy, decided to quit the game, leaving the Hustler Casino in Los Angeles with a $150,000 loss.

Ironically, the poker vlogging friends ended up as the two biggest losers of the game. Grandoli, who reported nearly $500,000 in profits at the poker table last year, finished the session down over $80,000.
