888poker Brings £100K Guaranteed UKPL Main Event to Newcastle in April
The 2025 888poker UK Poker League (UKPL) tour continues its second leg by heading to the Grosvenor G Casino in Newcastle from April 1st. This marks the first time an 888poker-branded live event has taken place in Newcastle since a £220 888poker LIVE Local tournament was held at Aspers Newcastle in July 2015.
While only a single £220 buy-in event ran back in 2015, the upcoming UKPL Newcastle festival features a much more extensive schedule. The highlight is the £560 buy-in, £100,000 guaranteed Main Event. Additionally, there is a £1,100 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller with £50,000 guaranteed.
The action kicks off on April 1st with two events – a £250 NLHE Opening Voyage (£50,000 gtd) and a £150 PLO 4/5/6 Card tournament (£10,000 gtd). A £90 satellite awarding seats into the Opening Voyage and Main Event will also run.
The £560 UKPL Newcastle Main Event features four starting flights. Day 1A begins at 3 pm GMT on April 3rd, with 1B and 1C running at 1 pm and 6 pm GMT on April 4th respectively. Day 1D on April 5th at noon is expected to be the largest flight. Day 2 starts at 12 pm GMT on April 6th, where players can enter if they missed the starting flights, albeit with a shorter stack.
Other marquee events include the £1,100 High Roller (April 3-4), £200 Turbo Dash (April 3), £220 KO Rumble (April 5), £150 Seniors event (April 6) and £250 Big Shot tournament (April 6).
Live satellites into the Main Event are available at the venue, with two £125 buy-ins awarding 5 seats each on April 2nd and 3rd. Online satellites are also running on 888poker, including freerolls and low buy-ins awarding seats and packages.
